Homebirth Care

This package covers from the time you enter care, including all prenatal visits, labor & birth support, and postpartum care for the first 6 weeks after birth.


Prenatal care

Initial Appointment around 12 weeks (1.5 hours)

  • Going over contracts and informed consents

  • Talking thorough your health and pregnancy history

  • Nutrition assessment and supplementation needs

  • Discussing lab tests options available to you

  • Taking vitals and listening to baby

  • Chat about your wants and wishes for your pregnancy and birth

  • Order dating ultrasound if requested

Routine Prenatal Visits (1 hour)

  • Talk about physical, emotional, social health

  • Discuss nutrition and supplementation

  • Discuss pregnancy at the current stage and any questions or concerns you may have

  • Obtain vitals including blood pressure, measuring fundal height, assessing fetal position and lie, and listening to baby’s heartbeat

  • Discuss lab tests available for that time of pregnancy and perform if needed

  • Order 20 week anatomy scan

  • Prenatal visits are monthly from 12-28 weeks, bi monthly from 28-36 weeks and weekly from 36 weeks until delivery


Labor & Birth

  • On Call 24/7 for birth starting at 37 weeks

  • Available for non emergent concerns during business hours

  • Phone support and labor triage in early labor

  • In person support during active labor, including comfort techniques, monitoring maternal and fetal vital signs, helping prepare space for the birth

  • Assisting with birth and immediate postpartum including monitoring maternal and newborn vitals until stable

  • Prepared for emergencies with Resuscitation training, equipment, anti hemorrhagic medications

  • Facilitation of the “golden hour” after birth to promote bonding and breast feeding

  • Full Newborn exam after birth including weight, measurements, and if requested, Vitamin K and erythromycin eye ointment.


PostPartum Visits

  • Visits at 24-36 hours post birth, 3 days (optional), 2 weeks and 6 weeks

  • Check on maternal and newborn vitals

  • Talk about feeding concerns and diaper output

  • Discuss postpartum recovery, nutrition, physical and mental health

  • Chat about birth experience

  • Any other questions or concerns and referrals if needed

  • At the 24 hour postpartum visit- Newborn screens including Critical Congenital Heart Screen, Newborn Metabolic Screen and Hearing Screen
